Romans
Reigning in Life

Tim Blaber

21 Mar 2010

Tims takes us through the next part in our Romans series looking at a passage in Romans chapter 5.

Death is very much a taboo subject in western culture, not really a feature of everyday conversation although it is very much an everyday reality. Read a newspaper or watch a news bulletin and you’ll be confronted by death. In this passage the Apostle Paul teaches into the origins of death and how through Adam’s disobedience ‘death reigned’ and has continued to reign over humanity ever since this one act. In Christ however, death has been put to death and has lost its ultimate power and sovereignty over people. Those who put their faith in Christ are empowered to ‘reign in life’ and needn’t fear death as the overbearing tyrant it once was, for ‘to live is Christ and to die is gain’ and now because of Christ’s resurrection ‘death has lost its sting’. Be encouraged as you listen to this sermon, as this truth is unpacked by Tim. What a great hope we have in Christ!
