Boasting in our own abilities and talents is something we are all prone to do, this might occur sub-conciously but every human heart is guilty of this flaw. Paul says that in the gospel boasting is excluded and that saving faith is starkly contrasted to it. All our conifidence and boasting as Christians is in what Christ has accomplished for us at the cross, approval from God is assured for all whose trust in in Him.
